வீ விருது
சென்ற மாதம் 22 ஆம் தேதி வீ என்ற ஒரு பத்திரிகை எனக்கு ஒரு விருது கொடுத்தார்கள். ‘Invincible Willpower’ என்ற விருது அது. ராணி சீதை அரங்கில் மாலை 7 மணியிலிருந்து 11 மணி வரை நடந்த விழாவில் என்னைப் போல் மேலும் ஒரு 12 பேர், நடிகை சரண்யா பொன்வண்ணன், பாடகி சுதா ரகுநாதன், இசை அமைப்பாளர் விஜய் ஆண்டனி, என் நண்பர் பாடலாசிரியர் மதன் கார்கி, என் நண்பர்களும் சுயதொழில் விற்பன்னர்களுமான வீணா குமரவேல்/குமரவேல், முன்னாள் அமைச்சர் கக்கனின் பேத்தி மீனாட்சி விஜயகுமார், டாக்டர்.மினி ராவ், ஃபாஷன் டிசைனர் சைதன்யா ராவ், பெண் இரு சக்கர ஓட்டுனர் சித்ரா பிரியா, இளம் எழுத்தாளர் இஷா நாகநாதன் நடிகை தன்ஷிகா, நடிகர் விஜய் சேதுபதி அன்று விருது வாங்கினார்கள்.

வாழ்நாள் சாதனையாளர் விருதுக்கு இயக்குநர் பாக்யராஜ் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டிருந்தார்.

எனக்கு ரெஜினா ஜெப்பியார் விருதை வழங்கினார். விருதிற்கான பத்திரத்தை ஒளிப்பதிவாளர் கார்த்திக் சீனிவாசன் வழங்கினார்.

இந்த விருது ஏற்பாட்டாளர்கள் விருது வாங்கியவர்கள் எல்லோரைப் பற்றியும் ஒரு சிறு ஒளிப்படத்தை போட்டுக் காட்டினார்கள். அது மிகவும் முயற்சி செய்து எடுக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது. என்னைப் பற்றியும் இயக்குநர் பாக்யராஜ் பற்றியும் போட்ட படங்களை மக்கள் மிக ஆர்வத்துடன் பார்த்தார்கள். என் கல்வித் தகுதி பற்றி வரும் போது பெரும் ஆரவாரம் செய்தார்கள்.

நான் ஏற்புரை கொடுத்த போது இந்த பத்திரிகையின் பெயரிலிருக்கும் சொல்லைப் போல் நாம் அனைவரும் விருதுக்கு தகுதியானவர்கள் என்று பேசத் தொடங்கினேன். இந்த பத்திரிகையின் இணை ஆசிரியர் தர்மாவுடன் நான் முன்பு பின்னணி குரல் கொடுக்கும் பணிக்காக வேலை செய்ததை நினைவு கூர்ந்தேன். உடல் ஊனம் கொண்டவர்களை மாற்றுத் திறனாளிகள் என்று அழைப்பதைவிட சிறப்புத் திறனாளிகள் என்று அழைக்கலாம் என்று கூறியதை அங்கிருந்த கூட்டம் பெரும் வரவேற்புடன் ஏற்றது.

இந்த பத்திரிகை பெண்களுக்கான பத்திரிகை என்பதால் என் வாழ்வில் பாதித்த பெண்கள் பற்றி பேசினேன். என் தாய் மறைந்து ஒரு மாதம் தான் ஆகியிருந்ததால் என் தாயின் போர் குணம் பற்றிப் பேசினேன். என் நிறுவனத்தில் வேலை பார்க்கும் திட்ட மேலாளர் பிரேமலதா பற்றியும் கூறினேன். அத்துடன் ஒரு பாட்டையும் பாடினேன். பாட்டை பாடும் போது இடையில் வரும் இசையின் போது பேசிக் கொண்டிருந்துவிட்டு பாட்டு தொடங்கும் போது சரியாகத் தொடங்கி பாடினேன். அங்கு வந்திருந்த அனைவருக்கும் அது மிகுந்த உற்சாகத்தையும் மகிழ்ச்சியையும் கொடுத்தது. இதைக் கவனித்து பாக்யராஜ் பேசும் போது என் திறமையை வெகுவாகப் பாராட்டினார். மேலும் நான் கூறிய சமூகம் மற்றும் பெண் விடுதலை தொடர்பான கருத்துகளை மேற்கொள் காட்டிப் பேசினார்.

எப்போதும் போராடிக் கொண்டிருப்பதுதான் என் வாழ்வின் ஓட்டமாக இருக்கிறது. அதனால் எது வந்தாலும் எதிர்ந்து நின்று வெற்றி பெறுவது என்பதை இலக்காகக் கொண்டிருக்கிறேன். இதற்காகத்தான் இந்த விருது கொடுத்திருப்பார்கள் என்று நினைக்கிறேன்.

அங்கு பல பிரபலங்கள் வந்திருந்தார்கள். ஒரு நடிகை தன்ஷிகா கூட விருதை வாங்கினார். என் பேச்சைக் கேட்டு என்னை தனது ரோல் மாடலாகக் கருதுவதாகக் கூறிச் சென்றார்.

எப்போதும் மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருக்கவேண்டும். மற்றவர்களை மகிழ்ச்சியாக வைத்திருக்கவேண்டும் என்பதே எனது கொள்கை.

Rejina Jepiyar gave away my award and cinematographer Karthik Srinivasan handed the certificate.

The organisers industriously made the audio visual presentation for each and every award recipient. Director K.Bhagyaraj’s and mine received spellbound attention of the entire audience. When my academic records were mentioned in the AV rapturous applause resulted.

In my acceptance speech I’d begun with the pun on the name of the magazine WE. I emphatically made clear that we were all bound to get awards. I’d recollected my formative years as a voice-over artiste with Mr.Dharma, who’s the associate editor of WE magazine. The audience acknowledged my usage of specially abled from the existing term Differently abled while referring to the physically challenged.

This magazine is for women. So I spoke about the women who were influential in my life. I spoke about my mother who had passed away a month before. I narrated her resilient character. I introduced my company’s project manager Premalatha to the audience.

I sang a song there. When I sang the song I spoke in between the musical interludes and picked up the lyrics at the right time the stanza started. All of them enjoyed immensely, which was prominently echoed with their thunderous applause every time I’d elapse back to the stanzas.

When director K.Bhagyaraj spoke in his acceptance speech, he praised my talent and also quoted in several places my thoughts on society, self development and women’s empowerment.

My life process has always been an enjoyable struggle. So my aim is to win whatever comes in my way with my never give up attitude. I thought probably the award would have been given for this. In other words, this award will enhance my perseverance to try further.

Many celebrities had come there. The film artiste, Dhanshika after listening to my speech and the way I was getting along with the audience told me that she was going to take me as her role model.

I am always happy and I want others to be happy as well.
